What To Expect From Your First Visit

Your first time visiting a new dentist, especially if you haven’t been in a while, can be nerve-racking. Our dentists and staff will do their best to put your mind at ease and clearly explain everything you need to know. Learn more about what your first visit will entail, financing options, and forms you can fill out beforehand.

Your Appointment

Discussion

Our staff will talk to you about any issues or concerns you have, like pain or sensitivity, and about any cosmetic changes you may want, like teeth whitening and straightening.

Dental Exam

The dentist will then examine your teeth for issues like cavities, tooth decay, and infections as well as check previous dental work for problems. They will also check your gums for periodontal disease. Then a screening will be done to check for signs of oral cancer. The dental exam is finished with x-rays to get a complete picture of what’s going on.

Planning & Financing

The dentist will go over their findings and what your options are for treatment. After your treatment is planned out, our staff will discuss with you the pricing, insurance options, and 3rd party financing options.

Cleaning

During your visit, you will have a professional cleaning done. Dental cleanings are an important part of oral health and help prevent future problems.

New Patient Forms

For your first visit, we ask new patients to complete our new patient form. This form lets us know not only your contact and insurance information but also the current problems you’re having with your oral health and pre-existing conditions and allergies that might affect treatments. You can save yourself some time before your appointment by printing this form and filling it out beforehand. If, however, you can’t fill out certain sections or don’t feel comfortable doing it on your own, we will be happy to assist you with this process during your appointment.
