Dr. Caracappa gained his doctorate from the University of Pennsylvania. Following graduation, he pursued a General Practice Residency at Hackensack Meridian Medical Center, a Level One Trauma hospital. There, he gained extensive training in emergency dental care, maxillofacial trauma, surgical extractions, bone grafting, root canal therapy, and implant prosthetics—skills that allow him to provide comprehensive treatment for patients with even the most complex dental needs.
While at Penn, Dr. Caracappa also contributed to cutting-edge research in collaboration with BioNTech. Working under Dr. Gary H. Cohen, he studied the Herpes Simplex Virus to aid in the development of a next-generation mRNA vaccine. His research was presented at the 2023 Penn Dental Research Day, reflecting his dedication to advancing dentistry through science and innovation.
In 2018, Dr. Caracappa joined a humanitarian mission trip to Panama, where he helped provide dental and medical care to more than 800 children and adults in underserved villages. Preparing for this mission, he secured donations of supplies and embraced the challenge of practicing dentistry in a resource-limited setting. This experience deepened his commitment to serving others and broadened his perspective on the importance of compassionate care.

He strives to treat every patient like family, combining advanced clinical skills with a welcoming, reassuring approach.
